We truly value the relationships we build with you when you choose us for your hair care needs. As we discuss our pricing, we want to share a few important points. Our passion for our career is driven by countless hours of study and years of experience, which are reflected in our pricing. We are committed to earning a living, and when you pay for a finished product, it represents the sole revenue for that time slot. Unlike manufacturing businesses, our income comes from service and product sales. We are incredibly grateful for your support in purchasing small and local, even if it means paying a little more than at larger retailers like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. The salon and stylist share the cost of services, so a $20 service that takes an hour means your stylist earns $10 an hour. This is also true for longer, more involved color services. While a $250 service that takes 3 hours may seem expensive, it equates to $40 an hour for your salon professional. To put it in perspective, when I started my career 40 years ago, a men’s haircut was $17, and now it’s $25, which means I’ve received a $4 an hour raise over four decades. We hope this helps when considering our salon prices.
As we adjust our pricing due to rising costs of supplies and utilities, we want to ensure we can continue serving you for many more years. Additionally, please keep in mind that cancellations or no-shows for pre-booked reservations mean your stylist earns no revenue for that time slot, resulting in zero dollars an hour. We understand that life happens, and sometimes changes are unavoidable due to illness or family reasons. We also ask for your understanding regarding our personal lives when a stylist is unable to come in early, stay late, or squeeze you in. We strive to accommodate everyone, but we hope you can empathize with how you would feel if people expected you to stay late, come in early, skip lunch (which we rarely take), or work on your day off. While we love our work, we also cherish the time we spend with our families, just as you do. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
